Jake Gadon has a passion for storytelling & loves to be on a sideline for any sporting event.

On the field, in the press box or from the studio, Jake always brings the same energy and dedication to every event he covers!

Jake is a New Englander, through & through, growing up on the shoreline of Connecticut, but frequently traveling to

New York or Boston.

 

After 18 years in the cold, Jake made the move to Arizona to attend the esteemed Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications in the Fall of 2012. 

 

After his graduation in the Spring of 2016, Jake made the move to the home of Booby Miles & the Permian Panthers to become the Sports Director at KOSA, the CBS affiliate in Midland-Odessa.

During his time in West Texas, Jake earned several Texas Associated Press awards for Best Sports Anchor,

Sports Program & Sportscast.

 

After three years under those Friday Night Lights, Jake took the next step in his career journey, joining KOAA, the NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, as a Sports Anchor/Reporter in June of 2019. Jake was then promoted to Sports Director in February of 2020. He was named Colorado Sportscaster of the Year in 2022.

In November of 2022, Jake accepted a new position of Sports Anchor with CBS Sacramento (KOVR O&O).

​

Jake has covered over 5,000 events, including NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA & high school games, in his career.

​

Some career highlights include covering the 2023 Sacramento Kings & the end of their playoff drought, the 2023 San Francisco 49ers Playoff run, the 2020 NHL Stadium Series game at Falcon Stadium, Air Force football's historic 11-win season including a Cheez-It Bowl victory.
